FOUNDATION OF ASICON TOKYO LTD.

Since January 2007, we, the Steinbeis Transfer Centre (STC) ASICON, can offer the whole range of services and products to our Japanese customers through a Japanese company named ASICON Tokyo Ltd. To our partners and customers in Japan, this means a convenient access to our resources, and more flexibility.

BATCH INTEGRATION OF HIGH-QUALITY MATERIALS TO MICROSYSTEMS (Q2M)

The STC ASICON has become a member of Q2M, a multi-national research consortium partly financed by the European Commission. One goal of Q2M is the combination and integration through batch-microfabrication of components and materials that are unsuited for monolithic integration. To build a link between the participating research institutes and companies to the market, the Centre provides the link to industrial needs outside the consortium.

HIBC SPREADING TO JAPAN

Our participation in the "Int'l Modern Hospital Show" 2006 in Tokyo was the official start of introducing the Health Industry Bar Code (HIBC) to the healthcare industry, medical personnel, and distribution / logistics experts in Japan. At our exhibition booth as well as in our presentation seminar, we explained about the differences to other existing barcodes in Japan and about the conditions for recognising all codes on a reciprocal basis. Speakers were Mr Heinrich Oehlmann, EHIBCC-D (European Health Industry Business Communications Council, German Office) and Mr Akira Shibata, Head of R&D centre, Japan Automatic Identification Systems Association (JAISA).
